Endowed Giving & Named Funds

Your philanthropic leadership sustains JWU's growth and evolution, and helps to power a bold new era of academic excellence.

Endowed Giving

Endowed scholarship or program funds can be created with a gift of $50,000 or more. For an endowed scholarship, the corpus, or original gift, is invested and the annual interest is awarded in perpetuity, so your impact, and the legacy of your loved one, will last for generations. An endowed gift provides Johnson & Wales with a permanent stream of funding for the area you wish to support. Endowed funds are invested strategically so they will grow over time. Each year, JWU receives a portion of the fund to support the programs and priorities the initial gift was designated for. This perpetual cycle provides critical support year after year.

Named Funds

You can establish a fund in your name or in the name of your family or loved ones. The most common examples are named scholarship funds that support deserving students who meet the guidelines set forth by you and JWU. Named funds require a minimum investment of $25,000 and can be designated to support the people and programs you are most passionate about.

Gifts may be paid over a number of years, and you can help set the criteria by which the scholarship is awarded or the program fund is utilized. For example, you may designate a scholarship for students with financial need or to students in a certain academic discipline. Or, you can help ensure a favorite program has the equipment, supplies and staffing needed through a program support gift. Our team will be happy to work with you to identify the areas of the university where your gift will have the greatest impact.
