Meet the Emeril Golf Classic Scholarship Recipients
Through the generous support of prior tournament participants, the following students were able to make their dreams of attaining a culinary arts education a reality. Take a moment to read about the profound difference this has made in the lives of our student scholarship recipients.
Celestina Brunetti has always had an interest in culinary nutrition and providing others with a healthier lifestyle. Working with the nutrition team here has enabled her to blend her passions — food, health and science — and self-direct her future. “This unique major opens doors.”
Celine Serret chose JWU based on its reputation for teaching students all aspects of success — not just how to be a successful chef, but also how to run and manage a business. “Receiving this scholarship is truly an honor. It made me realize that hard work really does pay off.”
Quietly ambitious, Tran Nguyen has found her niche at the university, turning challenges into opportunities. “Coming from a single-parent home, attending JWU has placed a financial strain on my family. Being awarded this scholarship means my mother no longer has to give up parts of her life and I can be more at ease not having to worry about finances. I am more than grateful for this opportunity to prove myself.”
Ashley Bishop's passion for cooking was sparked when she was a young girl in the kitchen with her grandfather, a former Navy cook who worked magic in the kitchen. That spark led her to Johnson & Wales, where she is a sophomore in the Culinary Arts program at the Charlotte campus.
