Student Support & Scholarships
JWU’s Denver Campus attracts a diverse and driven group of students from 11 countries and 52 states and territories. Despite their varied backgrounds, they share a common goal: a career-focused education. They also share a common need: More than 93% of our students receive federal financial aid assistance.
Our sole purpose is to provide our students with the career-based education and experience they need to realize their ambitions. Therefore, to supplement federal funding for students, JWU has increased institutional aid, committing more than $120 million in 2010-11 alone to fund scholarships and grants. This is a significant commitment — yet it is still not enough.
To support our students and fulfill the priorities of our new strategic plan, FOCUS 2011, we seek financial aid and scholarship gifts from alumni, parents, and other friends of the university. We offer two types of donor-funded scholarships, both of which may be named:
- A spend-down scholarship fund (minimum $5,000 investment; no minimum for memorial scholarships), where scholarship awarding continues until the fund is depleted, at which time you will be invited to replenish it
- An endowed scholarship fund (minimum $50,000 investment), to be awarded in perpetuity
Scholarship criteria, duration, and distribution structure are established by the donor working closely with Advancement staff. To explore opportunities to support student scholarships and aid, please contact:
