Capital Support

The JWU Providence Campus encompasses 150 acres located in Downcity Providence and the Harborside Campus along Narragansett Bay. Here, we serve more than 10,500 students from 71 countries and 52 states and territories. Our goal is to not only improve upon and expand our academic facilities and residences, but also to be an active participant in neighborhood revitalization.

Our largest current capital project is the new Cuisinart Center for Culinary Excellence (CCCE), the $38 million, LEED-certified facility we are building to provide students with cutting-edge equipment in a diverse array of production environments. Construction of the Grace Admissions Center, a brand-new facility located across from the CCE, is slated to begin soon.

We also recently refurbished Xavier Hall and renovated Providence’s historic Rolo Building for use as a new Student Services Center. Together, these two projects were honored by the Providence Preservation Society as an “extraordinary and positive contribution to the livability and urban fabric of Providence.” Both were cited as examples of “JWU’s commitment to the preservation of significant historic buildings.”

Each of our capital projects is designed to support and enrich the world-class, industry-relevant education we offer at JWU. By enhancing the student experience in Providence, we strengthen our students’ potential — and this can only happen if our campus can keep pace with industry changes. Your participation in a capital project will help us realize our vision. For convenience, you can make your gift online.

Currently, we have a variety of ongoing facilities- and technology-related capital projects at the Providence Campus. For details, naming opportunities, and more information, please contact:
