JWU attracts a diverse and driven group of students from all 50 states and 84 countries, many of them first-generation college attendees. Despite their varied backgrounds, they share a common goal: a career-focused education. They also share a common need: More than 90% of our students receive federal financial aid assistance.
Our sole purpose is to provide our students with the career-based education and experience they need to realize their ambitions. Therefore, to supplement federal funding for students, JWU has increased institutional aid, committing more than $120 million in 2010-11 to fund scholarships and grants. This is a significant commitment — yet it is still not enough.
To support our students and fulfill the priorities of our new strategic plan, FOCUS 2011, we seek financial aid and scholarship gifts from alumni, parents, and other friends of the university. We offer two types of donor-funded scholarships, both of which may be named:
Scholarship criteria, duration, and distribution structure are established by the donor, alongside Advancement staff. To learn more about student support opportunities at your campus of interest, please visit our locations in Providence, North Miami, Denver and Charlotte.
