Peter Rood joins JWU as director of development and alumni relations for the North Miami Campus. Rood’s distinguished career includes over 35 years as an advancement, public affairs and not-for-profit management executive, most recently as president of Strategic Advancement Solutions and vice president for advancement at The Florida Aquarium.

Highlighting Rood’s career is a series of successful fundraising, capital and endowment campaigns for large, complex non-profit organizations and small, volunteer-driven start-ups, including The Salvation Army, the University of Miami, the University of Pennsylvania, Lenox Hill Hospital, Georgetown University and United Way of America.

Rood is also active in community and professional organizations.  He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, where he served as a Board member of the local chapter.  Rood was also on the Steering Committees for “Planet Philanthropy,” the biennial statewide conference of fundraising professionals and Board of Brookwood Florida, a residential treatment program for young women in St. Petersburg.

Rood is active on both Leadership St. Pete and Leadership Tampa alumni programs. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in history at Rutgers University.
