The Emeril Lagasse Golf Classic Tournament
Born out of Chef Emeril Lagasse’s commitment to give back to his alma mater, the annual Emeril Lagasse Golf Classic is a unique event benefiting the renowned chef’s endowed scholarship fund.
Save the Date
The 11th Golf Classic will be held from Sunday, September 29 to Tuesday, October 1 in scenic Newport, RI. Take a look at what we’ve got planned for this year. Registration will go live in late May.

Investing in JWU’s Future
The Emeril Lagasse Endowed Scholarship Fund supports a major aspect of JWU’s latest strategic initiative, 2017: The Centennial Plan — namely, to make education more affordable for students.

Continuing its focus on affordability, the university will earmark $190 million in institutional aid annually by the close of the plan in the 2017-2018 academic year.
“Having Emeril work with all of us on this event helps to strengthen our mission of providing students with a quality — and affordable ― career education experience, and for that we’re extremely grateful,” said Chancellor John J. Bowen.
The 10th anniversary event, held September 23-25, raised the highest amount of scholarship funds in the history of the tournament. To date, the event has raised approximately $4.5 million.
By raising scholarship dollars, the Golf Classic helps ensure that “any student with the dream to be part of our great industry is able to receive a JWU education,” noted Tournament Chairman Steve Caldeira, president and CEO, International Franchise Association.
In these challenging economic times, your continued support will ensure the future success of some very special students.
